Motor's Running

Harper turned nine months old yesterday, February 4th.
And boy, is her motor running! She had her 9-month doctor check-up yesterday. She has only gained four ounces since December, but has grown TWO inches! She's so active that the weight she is gaining is apparently only serving to lengthen her. For those of you interested in this sort of thing, she is in the 90th percentile for height, just like her sister has always been. Shocking, I know.
You'll see just how busy she has been. I look at January on her milestone calendar and am amazed at all the notes for one month alone. This past month she has learned:
  1. to get up on her hands and knees,
  2. pull up to her knees when holding on to something and stay there to play,
  3. enjoy playing with a ball,
  4. pick up things with her thumb and first finger (a.k.a. pincer grasp),
  5. poke at things with her first finger,
  6. cluck her tongue,
  7. clap her hands,
  8. hand me things like her cup or a toy,
  9. do the sign for "daddy" and "more",
  10. sit herself up from her tummy,
  11. army crawl,
  12. eat table food,
  13. respond to requests such as "wave bye-bye",
  14. recognize her blanket as a sleep object,
  15. close cabinet or dresser doors
  16. AND, on top of all this, her two front teeth cut through her bottom gums just last week.

No wonder we're all so tired around here. Maybe, I should be thankful she isn't fully proficient in crawling all over the house!
