Further Thoughts on Babies

The funniest stories come from little Peyton's prayers sometimes. I know God must smile too at the sound of sweet two-year-old voices calling out to Him. Well folks, Peyton is still thinking about babies in bellies, and perhaps getting a bit confused now. I can't really blame her these days. Anyway, here is a conversation/prayer Blake and Peyton had tonight...

They were praying for people in Peyton's life and got to Brooke and Steven (Blake's sister and her husband). So Blake told her she could say, "Dear Jesus, please watch over the baby in Brooke's belly." And Peyton repeated that after him.

She then said on her own, "Dear Jesus, please watch over the baby in Amanda's belly." I just love it when Peyton adds her own thoughts to what we teach her to pray.

Blake then reminded her to pray for the baby in our friend Katie's belly, and she did.

Then (and you must know that this is not an announcement of any sort!) she said, "Please watch over the baby in Mommy’s belly. " And...THAT'S where she crosses the line into confusion.

So Blake said, "Peyton, Mommy doesn’t have a baby in her belly."

But the confusion just continued. She said something that sounded like..."Please watch over the baby in Mommy’s belly, and another one, and Harper’s in her belly."

"Peyton, Harper’s not in Mommy’s belly anymore," Blake reminded her again.

And, as if she was instructing Blake on the real truth of the matter, she said, "She already came out!"
