Our littlest daughter, Harper, turned the big ONE on May 4th, as many of you know. Her birthday party, held May 2nd, was also the Day the Great Flood Began in Nashville , as some of you know. It rained, severely, all day on party day, and we wondered briefly whether we should postpone her party. Because of this and the distractions thereafter, her birthday (I feel) has not been properly recognized 'round this here blog spot. Therefore, as any propa blogga mama shoulda, here is a true story dedicated to my littlest "Hops", "Hoppy" and "Hippity Hop," as I like to call her...
In my backyard lives a little bunny namedHippity. Her birthday was coming and she thought,Yippity skippity!
She knew how to put away some cake.
But on the day of her party, the sky turnedPitch.Few bunnies moved except for the occasionalWhisker twitch.
She feared her party plans would break.
The mighty clouds without mercy gaveWay.The rains arrived and without invitation…They stayed.
Could her best bunnies safely cross the swelling lake?
Donning their hoods, they carefullyCame.Hippity hopped and joyfully shoutedTheir names.
The backyard bunnies grinned until their cheeks ached. For they couldn’t miss seeing Hippity guzzle cake!
True story.
Please stay tuned for photos of the star-studded, rainy, birthday party.
